About Us

Alvin W. Heller was born in New York on December 9, 1935. After graduating from Stuyvesant High School and New York University, he attended New York University Dental School.

As a Captain in the United States Army, military service was spent in the capacity of Oral surgeon for the 2nd Field Hospital in Perlache Forst, Munich, Germany. For two successive years, Dr. Heller participated in the combined Military Dental Fair held in Munich, first as a table clinician in third molar removals and then as a lecturer in soft tissue lesions.

In 1964, he returned to New York University College of Dentistry to enter the Periodontics and Oral Medicine Program. While a postgraduate student, Dr. Heller was selected to teach undergraduate periodontics. Dr. Sigmund Stahl selected Dr. Heller to be published from this effort. Dr. Heller co-authored two papers while serving as researcher for the Guggenheim Institute.

In 1966, Dr. Heller entered private practice. To this day, he maintains a practice in Lake Grove, New York. Although he heads a busy, lucrative office, Dr. Heller continues to enhance his credentials through service and education. In 2000, he achieved a medical degree from St. Christopher’s College of Medicine, Cambridge, England.

Valerie King is Dr. Heller’s Chief Surgical Assistant and has been with the practice since its inception.
